ISLAMABAD: Maintaining the previous records, girls once again outshone boys in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual exams 2011, securing majority of top positions. According to the result announced by Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Friday, girls bagged all top three positions in science group. Arooma Majid of Army Public School for Girls, Lahore Cantt secured first position with 1022 marks while the second position was shared by Ayesha and Naima Dawood of Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) I-10/4, Islamabad securing 1021 marks.
Nimra Babar of Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-6/2 and Sumbal
Wajid of Garrison Academy Kharian Cantt shared third position securing
1018 marks.
Waqas Mehmood Abbasi of Institute of Islamic Sciences Islamabad obtained
third position with 919 marks.
A total of 61015 students appeared in SSC Part-II annual examination out
of which 48773 candidates passed all the papers with the overall
percentage of 79.94.
A total of 39140 regular students appeared in the science group out of
which 36241 passed with the percentage 92.59 while in Humanities group,
a total of 8247 regular students appeared in the exams out of which 6488
passed the exams with percentage of 78.67.
In science group, 7989 ex/private candidates appeared in the annual
exams out of which 3823 passed all the papers with the percentage of
47.85 while in Humanities group, 5639 candidates appeared and 2221
passed all the exams with percentage of 39.39.
The result cards of overseas candidates are being dispatched to the
heads of the institutions from where they appeared in the exams.
However, the result cards of candidates both regular and private
belonging to Gilgit Baltistan are being sent to the FBISE’ sub-office
Gilgit.
This year, 67 unfair means cases were reported out of which 66 cases
have been decided after adopting judicious process, however, one case is
under process. |
